Our story begins with our founder Dr. M. H. Chaudhry M.D., F.A.C.P. who has been practicing cardiology for 35 years. Through the years he has treated patients with all of the common cholesterol lowering statin pharmaceuticals because they were the only effective agents available to get his patients to their cholesterol goal. He soon realized that an underlying dilemma was emerging. A significant number of his patients were experiencing serious side effects, lowering their quality of life. Often these patients would decide to discontinue their statin intake, thus jeopardizing their cholesterol levels. This problem was being compounded by the increasing cost of these pharmaceuticals, due to the pharmaceutical industry constantly driving prices higher. Dr. Chaudhry realized that there had to be a better and safer way to treat these patients, while still enabling them to reach a healthy cholesterol goal.
